Deputation Update

March 24, 2009

Dear Friends and Family,

Another week of encouragement has come and gone! We just finished up a mission conference at Heritage Baptist Church in Zebulon, NC. The folks here have been very gracious to us. We enjoyed staying with the Poelman family who are also missionaries with our board. They were such a blessing and help with our kids! On the last day of the conference the church voted to take all of the missionaries on for monthly support! What an encouragement that was! Also, on Wednesday evening after the service we checked our email and had received a letter from South Charlotte Baptist Church in Pineville, NC. They had just voted to begin supporting us as well! This puts us up close to 58% of the goal!

God has given us many witnessing opportunities this week as well. As we were standing in a line at the barbeque restaurant an older man started talking to Bethany. This opened up a good conversation. Esther took the kids and sat down to eat while Jeremy sat down at a table with this man and showed him the way of salvation. After a quite lengthy talk this man clearly understood he was lost and when confronted with the need to make a decision to trust Christ he was crying and trembling but still clinging to his own works. We were able to leave him with a tract and our phone number and pray that he will soon come to depend upon Christ instead of his own works. Please pray for Richard this week.
